VICROADS DRIVE TEST ROUTES
The Drive test is intended to assess your ability to drive safely. You’ll be penalized if you are doing something throughout the test that makes an unsafe situation, or if you are doing something that would produce an unsafe situation. The most serious penalty – wherever the test is stopped and you fail at once – is employed if you are doing one thing that puts you or alternative road users at risk of a crash or accident.
The initial part of the VicRoads drive test routes takes place in less challenging driving situations. You’ll be asked to turn left and right at intersections, change lanes, reverse park or do a three-point turn, then stop the car so the testing officer will calculate your points for the previous part of the test. If you pass, you’ll continue on to the second part of the test. If not, you’ll return to the VicRoads client Service Centre to receive feedback concerning your driving.
The next part of VicRoads drive test routes takes place on a little busier road. You’ll be assessed after you turn left and right at totally different intersections, modify lanes, merge with alternative traffic, and drive on straight and curved sections of road. At the end of the test, you’ll return to the VicRoads client Service Centre and receive your results.
AFTER THE TEST
The testing officer can offer you feedback at the VicRoads client Service Centre. You’ll be informed whether you passed or not and if there are aspects of your driving that require improvement.
If you fail the test, the feedback can assist you to focus on specific areas before you try the test again.
Remember you’re likely to pass the test if you have a minimum of one hundred twenty hours (including 20 hours night driving) of supervised driving expertise in a range of various conditions.
